Why Families Become Ambassadors
Every Family Ambassador has a story — one rooted in trust, gratitude, and the moments that make a community feel like home.
Families choose to share their experiences because they’ve seen the difference firsthand: the comfort of knowing their loved one is cared for, the relationships built with staff and neighbors, and the peace of mind that comes from feeling supported every day. These stories are shaped by small but meaningful moments — a warm greeting, a helping hand, a shared laugh, or the reassurance that someone is always there.
For many families, becoming a Family Ambassador is a natural extension of their journey. It’s a way to give back, to recognize the care and compassion they’ve experienced, and to help other families feel more confident as they navigate their own senior living decisions.
Together, these shared stories reflect the heart of our community — a place built on connection, trust, and the belief that no family should feel alone in this journey.

“Our family has been with Arbor Oaks through out a seven year span. First with our Mom, Janet. She lived here a very short time, but was treated so well, and had such a beautiful apartment. Four years later, Dad found his home here too. The AO team has worked so well with Dad, offering a variety of activities, putting up with his shenanigans and making sure he is safe. Dad loves his home. He loves watching his birds, and enjoys the cozy environment of Arbor Oaks. Thank you to the whole team at Arbor Oaks, you keep our family at ease while dad continues to live a more independent life.”

“Hi, I’m Jack and my mother lived in the Arbor Oaks assisted living apartment for seven months before transitioning to the memory care side. The Staff has been very helpful in meeting my mothers needs the entire time she has been there by; having her participate in the daily activities that are provided, occasional field trips, having her visit the memory care side many times before the move to help her acclimate to her current living area.
The activities are plentiful and are geared to help the residents mental and physical wellbeing. As family members can participate in these actives alongside their loved ones which provides wonderful interaction for you with them and other residents. The staff has always been courteous and attends to the resident’s needs.
Arbor Oaks uses Life Spark Medical which comes to the facility two times a week and will come to your apartment. This helps tremendously by not having to take your loved ones out of the building for appointments and they are more comfortable in their own apartment.”

“My wife has been at Arbor Oaks for the past 18 months. The staff is kind, patient and attentive to every resident’s needs. They truly understand how to create a warm, safe and engaging environment to those with memory and physical challenges. I feel peace of mind that my loved one is cared for with genuine compassion and respect. The facility is clean, welcoming and full of life. I’m grateful we found this wonderful community.”

How Families Make a Difference
Family Ambassadors often don’t set out to “help” — it grows naturally from their experience.
It begins with seeing a loved one feel safe, engaged, and genuinely cared for. With the relief that comes from knowing they’re supported, many families find themselves wanting to share what that peace of mind feels like. They remember the uncertainty they once faced and recognize how meaningful it would have been to hear from someone who had already walked this path.
By sharing their perspective, families offer reassurance, clarity, and hope to others who are just beginning their senior living journey. These real experiences — honest, personal, and heartfelt — help guide families forward and remind them they’re not alone.
